If only Feb 16

If only it were available in my country.
It was, once.

Furthermore it seems that it is not updated since long.
Pity.

Big screen Feb 16

Proz.com has a lot of bits, and I can see them better on a proper computer screen.

Stabilise the website first Feb 16

You've been slagged rotten for weeks about how buggy this website is. Maybe aim to achieve some stability here before inflicting an app on the world....

I use my mobile phone to keep an eye out for mails from clients, like the other day when I got a message asking when my translation would arrive. I had already sent it, but the client never received it. Instead of taking my dog for a good long walk, I short-circuited and sent the email again within half an hour.

I come here for a quick break from translation that doesn't side-track me too far. I'm at the computer already, I'm not going to use my phone, which is much harder and more infuriating to write on.

I have very few apps. I downloading booking.com because they said I'd need it to give my reservation number to the hotel reception. The hotel receptionist was fine with just my name. I also downloaded the French railway app because they said I'd need it for my ticket, then it turned out I simply needed to open the email on my phone to download it on my phone. There were a few apps already on the phone when I got it, and I deleted all those that wouldn't affect how the phone works.

I've had the phone for seven years now, still working fine, no need to change. Two other family members got phones at the same time as me and they have both changed since. I'm not saying it's because of all the apps they upload willy-nilly but...

Weird question. That app already exists (and is installed on my phone). Not that it's properly functioning, but hey, what's new.

I'm not an app person Feb 16

I have a handful of apps that I use and many more that I don't. Checking proz through the browser looking for questions to answer or interesting forum threads is an okay option for me. People install apps for all sorts of things, every eatery and every store chain wants to give you special perks through their app, to which I've been saying that if ever you find on my phone an app from a supermarket or restaurant, this will mean I've already been abducted by aliens and the thing walking the Earth... Maybe having an app from proz is of some benefit if you're a paying member, but what good would it do for me?Collapse

Yes Feb 16

Just thinking about next generations, I think it may be a must to have a mobile app. Although I sometimes enter via phone's browser and it's fine, I think it could be nice to have a proper functioning app just to see the job listing and only important features while you're on the go. A companion that has the necessary features to stay informed about what matters most. I personally don't miss a ProZ mobile app but maybe others...

Yes, I believe we need it now. Feb 22

The app existed and was functional before (with glitches, yes, but still). Even now, at times, when jobs with my working lungs are scarce I am sure I would love to have ProZ app on my iPhone. For work convenience and fo fun! ProZ IT gurus, please make it work - if someone does not need it - make it one of the perks for Plus members.

Working on an update Feb 22

Just going off-topic here --but probably not so much-- to let those interested know that ProZ IT gurus are working on an update to our existing ProZ.com mobile app (as a matter of fact, one of our developers has asked me earlier this week to take a look at the latest internal release for Android).

As Susanna and Lieve correctly point out, the app has been around since 2016 (see the announcement), but hasn't been updated in while. Hopefully we'll have some new soon. 🤞

Thanks for expressing interest in the mobile app service. Looking forward to other quick poll responses and reactions.
