I was translating a document today, using the zoom function to make the font bigger, when suddenly the bar across the bottom of the page (the one that shows which page you're on and has a sliding bar to move the text sideways) disappeared. I tried everything to get it back, to no avail.

Any suggestions, anyone?

I have no idea what you did, but:

1. Click on the Tools menu
2. Click on "Options"
3. Open the "View" tab
4. Check the "Status Bar" and "Horizontal scroll bar" boxes (near the top of the tab) to get your missing features back.

The names of the items in 4. may be different - I have the Polish version of Word.

I beg to differ, because I still don't know what you have done to kill two features in one stroke.

Glad to be of help,

P.
