capaz que Sep 7, 2012

el improvisado traductor no sea un gran ventilador de los diccionarios...

me explico: "gran ventilador" = "big fan" (anécdota real que presencié en que un angloparlante declaró en español a un artista hispanohablante ser su gran y fiel ventilador)

I don't speak Spanish, but that one's pretty easy to understand.

The artist should have told the admirer to grab a palm frond and start fanning, create a little Egyptian vibe.

LOL -o Sep 7, 2012

Unfortunately, many English speakers still think that sticking an "o" on the end of words makes it into Spanish. I blame Arnie and the Terminator movies for giving us "no problemo"...

Possibly an example of translation by a non-native speaker?
Whoops!

is still right twice a day By sheer brute force of numbers they will sometimes produce an actual Spanish word (entero) even if in the wrong mood and person.

Maybe... Sep 7, 2012

our ‘budding translator’ drew some inspiration from Spanish speakers who ‘coined’ the new word “grocería” to name grocery stores (practically a direct borrowing from English). For prozians who do not know Spanish, "grocería" does not exist in standard Spanish and happens to sound exactly like “grosería”, which means rude remark or vulgarity...I'm not a big fan...

Who reads signs anyway? Sep 8, 2012

This seems to be clear, standard Spanish.
