A friend told me that a Trados licence includes installation on one desktop and one laptop - is that true? I sincerely hope so, as I need to install it on both.


Yes, you are allowed to use the licence once at a time. This goes via the Licence Manager that connects each time to the SDL Licence Manager server where you 'release' your own licence out of your desktop machine temporary. Then you claim the very licence again from your laptop.

This operation goes back and forth smoothly.

AFAIK the license allows you to install (and activate) Freelance on desktop and laptop Jul 29, 2008

so there would be no need to return the license and activate on another PC each time.
However, I do not have access to a freelance license agreement, but remember somebody posting this information here in this forum not so long ago.
In fact as long I used freelance, I always had it installed (and activated) on my desktop and laptop at the same time. Of course the license covers the usage of only one (1) copy at a time.
Now I use the professional and its license is different.
