Moneybookers/Skrill

Yes, but Moneybookers is only available to US senders if they open a merchant account (private persons from the US can't use Moneybookers to send money). And even if the US person opens a merchant account, he can only upload money by credit card (and only using Visa or MasterCard).

Receiving funds from the US
Sep 16, 2013
Payments from the US can be problematic. Just for reference in what I have found:
- Xoom is for personal funds transfers only. If used for commercial purposes (e.g., settlement of an invoice) they may stop the transaction.
- PayPal is easy to use but gets expensive once the fees are over about $30 (the cost of sending a wire transfer in the US).

- PayPal is easy to use but gets expensive once the fees are over about $30 (the cost of sending a wire transfer in the US).
- To send a wire transfer in the US the sender often has to physically go to the bank and it's costly ($30+). Not many clients are willing to do this, although some will make a weekly or biweekly trip to the bank for the purpose of settling their payments, at least for larger amounts.
- Many US clients want to pay by cheque, since this is the standard method of payment within the US. However many foreign banks have to clear a US cheque by postal mail, and hold the funds for 30 days until they receive notification from the issuing bank that it has cleared.
- The US banking system is highly fractured with many tiny banks that have different practices, which makes it hard to standardize. ▲ Collapse

Moneybookers: re: my letter did not arrive
Sep 16, 2013
Hi all, my letter arrived today. Not usual to get it so late. Usually goods arrive within less than a week, but just to let you know. @ Samuel, I was not referring to US, and PayPal has informed us that they have updated their legal terms but I have not seen them yet to be able to tell, but their charges are exorbitant

xoom

If xoom raises problems when settling invoices, tell your client to indicate in his transfer details that you are his friend (and you need some money abroad cause you got drunk, drugged, laid and got robbed or similar...).
It depends on the amounts and frequency of the payments (and the clients desire to save his 30 bucks), in any case, as far as they don't confiscate your money, worth trying and dumping the Paypal thieves.
