Portuguese term

apuramos

Portuguese to English Social Sciences Psychology
I'm not even sure of the tense here, let alone the meaning:

[It is no longer just a matter of] language adjustment

It is no longer just a matter of language adjustment, it has to do with our spirit that we are subjecting to unexplainable servility.

I think he is talking about how it is not just the language that is being adjusted or changed, but even the spirit is being affected.

neutral coolbrowne : "It is no longer just a matter of" is spot on, but this use of "apurar" does carry an element of improvement, which cannot be ignored, especially given the author.

obsessing/fussing over (in this context)

'It is no longer just our language that we are obsessing/fussing over'; it is our spirit itself that is being subjected..'.
