Discussion

Rachel Fell Dec 18, 2005:
Hi Luiza, I understand what you say, but in Eng. we talk about re-education, learning new ways to eat rather than those we learned when little/over the years - conditioning in this context sounds a bit sinister:)
Luiza Modesto (asker) Dec 18, 2005:
Hi Deborah, I see what you mean. I was just thinking about this and maybe the word "reeducation" is misused. A person is not "educated" to eat certain foods but "conditioned" to eat certain foods. So when somebody is taught about nutrition and proper diet, it is actually "dietary education." Thousands of hits for "dietary education." :)
Deborah do Carmo Dec 18, 2005:
Hi Luiza, I understand dietary re-education (suggested by Rachel) as a means of making people aware of the need to modify/change their eating habits - however the process remains education, the intended result is the change, so not one and the same thing.
Luiza Modesto (asker) Dec 18, 2005:
Obrigada :)
