E "TC do crânio" vira "cranial computed tomography", "cranial CT" ou, simplesmente, "head CT".

"Head CT" é muito mais comum em inglês, e, diga-se de passagem, muito mais correto, pois a técnica permite visualização não apenas do crânio, mas também das estruturas nele contidas!...

"Ausência de coleções extra-axiais" significa que não há líquidos presentes no espaço extra-axial (grosso modo, dentro do crânio mas fora do cérebro). Um exemplo de "coleção extra-axial" seria um hematoma subdural (coleção de sangue entre a dura máter e a membrana aracnoide).

Olá Mary, sim, estarei aqui pela manhã... feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help! Não se usa "skull CT", a não ser quando é um "base of skull CT", que é outra história. Stick with "head CT" and you'll be fine.
And be careful, "head" and "skull" do not mean the same—whether in English or Portuguese! :) "Head" vs. "crânio", when referring to CT, is just a convention, a cultural thing. Don't let it mislead you into thinking head = skull :)

Sobre o que eu escrevi acima ( cranial computed tomography/ CT scan) são anotações que eu faço pra mim mesma durante a tradução e não decidi ainda qual o melhor termo que devo usar (nem era pra eu ter incluido isso no contexto...as vezes esqueço de apagar essas anotações). Sim, pensei também em "Head CT" mas minha dúvida era que "Head CT" seria "Tomografia da "Cabeça" e no documento eles dizem "crânio". Por isso fiquei na dúvida :). Mas eu concordo com vc...talvez "Head CT" seria mais adequado pq como vc disse, envolve toda a região da cabeça (parte interna e externa).... Obrigada pelas dicas! :) |

| Oh boy, I really thought both terms meant the samething! ( I guess many people do! LOL). Shame, shame on me! :P Well, I confess I am not an "expert" in this field. But anyway, when you Google "Cranial Computed Tomography", you get a lot of hits. However, I think I'll follow your advice and will use "Head CT" instead, as I'm pretty sure you know what you're talking about. Thanks again Felipe and sorry for bothering you with this. :) |
| Faz sentido pq pensando bem, o crânio é a estrutura "óssea" que protege a parte interna (o cérebro nesse caso). Mas enfim, amanhã estarei aqui com mais perguntas! Agora tenho que dormir! E tenho certeza que vou acabar sonhando com isso! :P |
