...feed additive that includes an isolated and purified, heat stable, amino terminus-methylated, carboxy-terminus reduced peptide comprising two or more D-amino acids isolated from Brevibacillus sp. Thecarboxy-terminus-COOH group of the C-terminal Valine of the peptide may be reducedto-CH2OH, and may confer protease resistance to the peptide. The peptide feed additive may be stable at a pH of 1.0, at a pH 13.0, resistant to proteases or combinations thereof. Examples of the peptide may be selected from one or more of SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 20 (collectively called the BT peptides).
