Danish term

prdg.

Danish to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Marriage Certificate
This abbreviation appears on the "place and date" line at the bottom of the certificate. Specifically it says: "Bælum prdg. d. 7. maj 1996". The abbreviation isn't given in Politikens Danskordbog - has anyone seen it before?

Discussion

Christine Andersen Mar 28, 2006:
My instant thought was 'præstegård' (= parsonage, the home and/ or office of the priest who performed the marriage ceremony), but that would be prgd, not prdg.

rectory

In my opinion this is cartainly a mistake, as Christine suggests it should be prgd, or præstegård, i.e. rectory, vicarage, parsonage, etc. If you Google prdg, you find the following mistake at the first link below: "Kjærup Prdg., d. 12. Juli 1723" whereas if you Google prgd you will find numerous references like "Maltbeck Prgd den 15 Febr. 1818"
