Right adjust

anglais vers français Technique / Génie Mécanique / génie mécanique
Hi all,

Mechanical machinery context, machine is a planter...

[BRAND] seal presenting premature wear
Right adjust on seed plate against seed meter housing AA80318, considering a slight friction between both.
This right adjust can be found at planter’s operators manuals.

On a une fois le verbe, une fois le nom, mais je n'arrive pas choisir si c'est "droite" ou "bon"

Merci d'avance

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): GILLES MEUNIER

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

B D Finch Mar 29, 2018:
Ask the client if possible The extract you posted is written in very poor English and it is a bad idea to try to guess at the writer's intention. It could mean adjusting the righthand-side of the seed plate or it could mean the correct adjustment.
Claude-André Assian Mar 29, 2018:
a priori ça serait plutôt "adéquat"

bon réglage / bien régler

As BDF says, the EN is so poor, it's a bit of a guessing game; but I do think
right = correct makes more sense in the context as given here.

You might just check and see if ther are any othe instances of 'right adjust' in your document, which might give extra clues.

agree Renvi Ulrich : Considering the context, your answer makes sense. The writer of the source text is definitely not a native English speaker.
