jokes!
Hello there lovely people.
Am translating a screenplay and there is a linguistic joke included, which I have been told I need to find something that works in English!
The original joke is:
Jaguaruuuu?! (How are you)
The protagonist has just made reference to the fact that he was touring America and his level of English was fairly pitiful, so this was his response to one 'listillo'.
Are there any jokes you can think of that play on the way Spanish people speak English?!
I can only think that it could contain a juan/one kind of reference, but my mind is a blank!!
Any bright ideas? The jokes can be terrible, as long as they work!
Thanks peeps

Okay I read the discussion and the thing about jokes is that it is very difficult to translate because the meaning of it can change. If I were in the United States and someone asks me "What does a Jaguar say when he meets another of its kind in the morning?" Where will your mind go from there to the animal Jaguar or the Car Jaguar? I think in the states it will go to the Car, so what does they say to each other "Tutuuuuuu" The sound of their claxon. Its an idea to think about that's it.

Javier Bardem?
Pub landlord: That Spanish actor was in here last night, he was drunk and disorderly.
Punter: Javier Bardem?
Pub landlord: No, but I gave him a stern warning.
(i. e. Have you barred him?)
Might work?

A: Que tal, coatl?
PACO
Pues qué le va a decir: ¡Jaguaryúuuuuu…!
Todos en la mesa se ríen ostensiblemente.
I was thinking about doing the first part in English and then the second part in Spanish to reverse it.... but can't think of anything that could be countered with "Como estas" o Que tal, etc..
