Lack of direction in life

English Other Psychology
Hello everyone,

In a self-help book there is a list of problems that can be solved by using some methods:

Problems and stress in relationships
Physical pain
Weight problems
Exhaustion
Tiredness
Sexual problems
***Lack of direction in life***
Problems with work and career
Confusion
Financial problems

What does "Lack of direction in life" imply? Is it the same as lack of purpose in life?

Thank you.

missing a purpose or goal

You are right. Missing a direction could be restated as lacking a goal or purpose.

agree Robert Forstag : To refine the concept somewhat further, it could also mean not acting in accordance with one's stated goals (especially of an educational or vocational nature).
