Note that it's not possible to keep the formatting. (Unless someone knows a way how to do that ...)

New version of the macro May 8, 2022

Since my segment extraction macro already cycles through the segments, I decided to let it copy source to target first:

I've also modified the timings so the macro would run smoother.

Adding formatting May 8, 2022

I'm waiting for a reply from Across Support regarding the lost character formatting when inserting copied text outside crossWeb.

It should be possible to use a kind of markup in the other CAT tool to mark bold, italics etc.

After import of the translated segments, the macro could simulate key presses like Cmd+B, Cmd+I to replace the markup.

But that's a long way to go ...

Lost formatting May 9, 2022

About the lost formatting when pasting text from crossWeb, I received this info from a KM expert:

I have a feeling that pasting pre-formatted material may be out of reach.

• their clipboard handling seems to be plain text only
• and their edit buffer looks like its done with (e.g. JavaScript or WebAssembly) code, essentially behind the scenes, in a way that doesn't give you access to, for example, formatted HTML elements.

So it looks like it is impossible to keep the formatting
