Mainly early morning, although mornings are also the time of my day subject to most interruptions and admin tasks. However, I can also work well at night, often well into the small hours, since there are fewer distractions.

At night! Jul 4, 2012

After 9pm, when the children are in bed and all is quiet. I used to be a morning person - still am - but needs must, and I've learnt that I can work well between 9pm and midnight. It's so nice and quiet, the computer gently glowing etc. Peace! - No - Work and Peace! (my new masterpiece!).

Mid-morning Jul 4, 2012

After I've woken up and before fatigue kicks in. Though I do often get a second wind in the late afternoon/evening.

I sometimes intentionally keep difficult bits of work for these times as I know I will be better able to problem-solve.

I can't be fussy about when I can be at my best: I have to take any moments of peace and quiet that come available.

Late mornings Jul 4, 2012

Early morning to start up and get going, then late morning for my most efficient time, long lunch break to reset (if possible, timewise), another burst early afternoon. After that, I try to do routine things only - admin stuff and other things that don't require too much thinking / concentration / creativity.

Evenings Jul 4, 2012

Less distractions and the weather is generally more pleasant and conducive to productive work

On long days -- quite often recently -- I take a mid-afternoon nap or siesta for about an hour or so, followed by a cuppa when I wake up. Sharpens up the senses a lot!

@Thayenga, long time no see!

Yep. Thought I was seeing double -- recollect having seen this in the not too distant past.

Shall plod on before the eyelids and brain shut up shop for the day.

I'm not a morning person Jul 4, 2012

...I just got up (and it's 11:00 a.m.)

My excuse: It's the 4th of July here in America. I'll accept birthday presents on her behalf all day long. Thank you.

Some days I work early in the morning, though, due to lack of sleep. I tell myself: I'd rather get up and work than lie in bed sleeplessly.

I also take siestas, Julian, when time allows.

Other - afternoons are not good Jul 4, 2012

All other times of day are good, with the first three hours of the morning normally being really good (unless of course, I get carried away the night before, and put an extra hour or two in before going to bed).

Other. It depends on the job. Jul 4, 2012

Some just have to be done in the morning. Given a choice, I am a night owl.
