After graduating in European Studies (a combination of English language and literature, law and history), I worked for the government for a couple of years in European related general and legal positions. However, my passion is language in general and the English language in particular, so I went back to university to specialise in translation. After obtaining a Master’s degree in translation and inspired by my internship experience, I decided to take the plunge and start my own business as a freelance translator in 2006. I am now a full-time translator and reviser of English and Dutch texts, mainly working for respected translation agencies around the country. A countless variety of texts have been on my screen, for me to translate, revise or edit, and have provided me with a wealth of practical experience, enabling me to hone my professional skills. |
