Bio
Mohammed Awal Alhassan

Alhassan Mohammed Awal is my name. I am the Communications Manager for Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. I contribute to organizing many Dagbani Wikipedia projects and playing other leading roles in executing those projects. I serve on the jury team and as well as a lead coordinator for many of the Wiki loves projects for Dagbani Wikimedians User Group. I was a speaker and a volunteer in the communication team for WikiIndaba 2021, a virtual conference hosted by Uganda. I am a member of Translators Without Borders and participate in various Wikimedia translation projects from English into Dagbani. I am interested and committed to learning from and contributing to the Wikimedia Technical community. I am also a self-motivated Digital language activist interested in using various Wikimedia tools such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wiktionary, and any other Digital language support tools available to facilitate my language activism work on the internet. I want the Dagbani language to go global and fill up every available digital space. I envision having the Dagbani language recognized by all search engines on the internet. I hope to have Dagbani speakers begin reading and writing content in Dagbani on the digital spaces with ease and get all Dagbani content made available, accessible, and free to use on the digital platforms. I also hope to achieve the same for all the 16 Mole-Dagbani sub-ethnic groups. Outside of the Wikimedia community, I am an educationist and a mentor providing services to young and upcoming teachers and students. I am an activist for child rights and girl-child education. A member of E-Governance and Internet Governance Foundation for Africa and Ghana School on Internet Governance (Ghanasig). I have a passion for writing and volunteerism. Dagbani is my native language but feel free to engage with me in the English Language which is the official language of my country Ghana
