blank extract

English Other Human Resources
I have a strong suspicion that the document I am working on has been translated from Belgian. That's why I am coming across some weird expressions.

Required documents:
A blank extract from the criminal register not older than 6 months / a certificate of good conduct.

I agree, Muhammad Definitely a weird expression. Clean extract would be better although Jenni's version is the correct one.

extract from the criminal registry showing a clean record

I did find "extract of the clean criminal registry" in www.irishchamber.sk/publications/STARTING_A_BUSINESS.pdf, but the extract is what it is. If one has no criminal record, it is considered "clean".

Good evening and thanks, Sheila. The wording might vary from one English-speaking country to another but blank is definitely "euro English".
