You CAN say \"accordingly\" because that is what eventually happens, but the stress here is on simultaneous change.

Rather as Ramesh says, 'accordingly' is not exactly wrong, but it is not really the intended emphasis here.
It simply means that adjusting this control will affect BOTH negative and positive lines together (in other words, there is no independent adjustment of each of them separately)
