Verwaltungsbezirk? This is what the English translation of this term is supposed to be, according to the glossary entry. I have no clue what this means, but is is definitely not English. Please correct.

\"Magistrate Ist Class, Dhaka Collectorate\" = \"a 1st Class Magistrate who is working in the Dhaka (administrative) area.\"

OED says

a. The district under the jurisdiction of a collector
Collector = ". In India, the chief adminstrative official of a zillah or district, whose special duty is the collection of revenue, but who also (except in Bengal) holds certain magisterial powers. (Yule.)"

I was wrong, since they say \"except in Bengal\", which may also refer to Bangla Desh, I\'d say simply \"tax collector\" to be on the safe side

District Collectorate

The Collector’s Office is one of the most important government functionaries, in the district. There is a high citizen interface here, with people from all walks of life, visiting the premises for one purpose or the other.

The Collector heads the Collectorate and is in-charge of all revenue functions in the district. The Collector is assisted by a team of senior administrative officials, located in various branches and talukas of the district. The Collector also coordinates the activities of the related government departments in the state.

This section explains the working of the Collectorate and the domains within.

So in your case, the person is a magistrate, also fulfils the role of a revenue (tax) collector and it would appear other admin functions as well. I worked previously in a magistrate\'s office in a smaller town in South Africa and there, until the Department of Finance eventually built a separate office, we also carried out revenue functions as well.
