English term

forest farm

English Art/Literary Agriculture
In Swedish, a "skogsgård"

Is there a better term for a farm in the forest (or a farm that consists (in part) of trees grown for pulp), than "forest farm" ?

Neither "farm in the forest" nor "forest farm" seems to be proper nor appropriately descriptive English.

woodland farm

I think, depending on the text, you may need to add a brief explanation of what you mean by whichever term you use, as it's something special to Sweden; I've seen forest, tree and forestry farm used, but the phrases in themselves don't nec. mean much in isolation, and in your question I'm not sure if you mean that they necessarily farm trees for pulp - ?

just offering another option:

In Sweden, agriculture and forestry are often combined. No fewer than 74% of all farms also have timberland. The average farm has 47 ha (116 acres) of forest.

tree farm

Could it be a tree farm?
Although the ones I've heard of are for raising Christmas trees.
Peer comment(s):

neutral William [Bill] Gray : Melanie, I don't think this is very common in English. "Tree nursery" is sometimes used, but we seldoom have the equivialent of the Scandinavian private farms which have large forestry areas devoted to pulp timber production.

Hi, Happy Easter. Tree farm is common enough as a term, but maybe it's not quite the concept that is needed here.
agree Giovanella (X) : I agree with the term tree farm. Maybe this link could shed some light on what tree farms are http://www.treefarmsystem.org/ and see if the term tree farm fits the context

forestry farm

I think you need to use this, Charles. Forest farm is like a title of a farm, or a children's story!!

This page has a nice alternative, but may be too wordy for what you want:

There are approxiately 2.2 million acres listed in this program under the ownership of nearly 1300 private landowners. Landowners include private individuals, clubs, forest industry, and other businesses.

farm forest/agroforest

Farm forestry and agroforestry are recognized terms in forestry. They mean growing trees for commercial purposes. Or farming with trees.

Both these terms yield a lot of hits in google.

From these terms, one may coin the terms "farm forest" or "agroforest", to convey the idea of cultivation of trees for commercial purposes.
