The following Patent Document 3 discloses a semiconductor device which includes a front surface element structure that is provided on the front surface side of a SiC chip, a plurality of concave portions that are provided in the rear surface of the chip opposite to the front surface element structure, and a net-shaped support (hereinafter, referred to as a rib) that surrounds the bottoms of the concave portions and forms the side walls of the concave portions.
