In a table listing different kinds of pH electrodes (for multi-parameter meters) and their properties, one column is titled 'Junction'. Some electrodes have 'Ceramic' here, some have 'Glass fiber' or 'Posi-pHlo(TM)', and some have 'Wick'. What's this?
I'm none too sure which broad/specific field to choose either...

if you enter Elektrode and Docht with Google you find quite a few hits, so it seems appropriate in that context. As far as I can tell, it is used to transmit the current.
