The bronze cherub at left is thought to have graced the *after* First Class Grand Staircase on A Deck.

Was heisst hier *after*? Ohne verstehe ich den Satz gut.

Ich würde annehmen, dass es sich auf die achtern, also hinten gelegene Treppe bezieht.

IMO this is a typo

having read the above answer, I still think it might be a typo and should be omitted, let's see what others think

Hier eine Erläuterung mit dem Hinweis, dass "achtern" dem hochdeutschen Wort "after" entspricht. ;-)
