Hallo Bernd Das Bild ist nur eins, das ich mir im Internet im Zusammenhang mit Hangar gesucht hatte. Wie die clamshell doors in meinem Text tatsächlicgh aussehen, weiß ich nicht, habe aber jetzt meinen Auftraggeber gefragt.

Klappen Bei Flugzeugen werden die im Deutschen sehr häugig als Rumpf-/etc-Klappe oder Luke bezeichnet.
Letztendlich hast du ja das Bild vor Augen ...

Ich habe für "clamshell doors" mehr als 45.000 englische Google-Treffer gefunden, d.h. dieser Ausdruck scheint im (amerikanischen) Englischen sehr geläufig zu sein. Daher ist evtl. ein ganz einfacher deutscher Ausdruck wie Flügeltore o.ä. gemeint.

Das Referenzbild zeigt meiner Meinung nach ein zweiteiliges Bogenrolltor. Von Flügeln würde ich bei einer hinged construction sprechen.
