Dutch term

combinatiefunctionarissen

Dutch to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
This post is being created as part of the Dutch government's efforts to encourage young people to take more exercise. 'Combination officials' doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Perhaps dual something or others? The term is quite widespread on Dutch sites but I can't track down any translation of it.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This is a good option, though after posting I happened to come across a VWS report "De kracht van sport", also available in English, which talks about "combined jobs" and "professionals in combined jobs": "I [VWS Minister] intend to rely particularly on ‘combined jobs’ to achieve this, by which I mean roles in which professionals work part of the time in sport and part of the time elsewhere, such as in education." I prefer to use the term that VWS itself has devised. Thanks, everyone."

Dank je wel, Willem.
disagree philgoddard : Sorry, but this doesn't work in this context.

This would seem to me too bold an assertion. I would say it is at least an option.

All-rounder

I think this term was first used in cricket (a player that does well in batting and bowling), but it is also quite common in disciplines outside of cricket (at least in nations where cricket is a/the national sport).

This definition is taken from dictionary.com:

all-round·er   [awl-roun-der] Show IPA
noun
a person of great versatility or wide-ranging skills: The job needs an all-rounder who knows sales, accounting, and something about computers.

extra-mural activities coordinator

Granted, I cannot find confirmation of this but it is a new type of job that may require a new name. Extramural activities is a well-known term for activities made available by the school that take place outside (and usually after) school. This can be sports, art classes, extra languages, etc. It seems logical then to call the person who sets up these activities and provides liaison between the school and other sectors a coordinator.

interdisciplinary officials

If we don't want to get into the specific way Dutch government creates "functionaries", I think the generic function would be "interdisciplinary", a well documented term, and a "functionaris" would have to be an "official", in my book. I hesitated about the possibility of "multidisciplinary", eventjes.
Example sentence:

The government has now appointed interdisciplinary officials to help stimulate interest in physical activities among sedentary pupils.
