Dutch term

prognosekapitaal

Dutch to English Bus/Financial Real Estate
Als in: de berekening van de verwachte winst bij een hypotheek met een beleggingscomponent.

I'm having a bit of a brain-fry moment about this term for some reason! Too much time spent contemplating my many other terminology dilemmas on this job, I think. Would really appreciate any help from any insightful readers.

estimated principal balance

capital is a synonym of principal, but the latter is commoner for a mortgage - unless we are talking about reapyments of capital vs. interest.

If it's on the insurance-linked, so endowment a/c, then it is indeed a forecast capital sum.

If that's right, then it's a forecast capital sum oir 'endowment benefit'.
Example sentence:

The principal balance, in regard to a mortgage or other debt instrument, is the amount due and owing to satisfy the payoff of the underlying obligation

Note from asker:
But I was under the impression that principal does not include interest. Prognosekapitaal = the estimated figure for what you've managed to accumulate on the investment account or investment-linked insurance policy. That includes premiums, profit, as well as any interest accrued over the balance.
