In a doctor's letter of discharge from the (Belgian) hospital. I translated it as atrium but I'm not sure. The letter also contains voorkamerfibrillatie and voorkamerflutter. Also contains atrium and ventrikel. Sample sentence from letter: "Diastolische linker ventrikel functie: voorkamerfibrillatie." I would love to have help with that phrase, too. References (Google search for "anterior chamber of the heart" brought up examples: From an article in Radiopaedia.org: "The right ventricle (RV) is the most anterior of the four heart chambers." From liverpool.ac.uk: "The anterior of the heart is formed mainly by the right atrium and ventricle, due to the twisting of the heart during development, which causes the left atrium and ventricle to lie posteriorly."

De atria of boezems maken deel uit van het hart. Een zoogdierhart bevat twee atria: in het rechteratrium verzamelt zich zuurstofarm/koolstofdioxiderijk bloed vanuit de sinus coronarius en bovenste en onderste holle ader, dat wordt doorgepompt tijdens de samentrekking van het atrium naar het rechterventrikel vanwaar het bloed via de longslagader in de longen van zuurstof wordt voorzien om zich daarna via de longaders in het linkeratrium te verzamelen. Vanuit het linkeratrium wordt het nu zuurstofrijke/koolstofdioxidearme bloed doorgepompt naar het linkerventrikel vanwaar het in de systole door de aorta naar de rest van het lichaam gepompt wordt.

"left ventricular diastolic function" is affected by "atrial fibrillation"
Left ventricular diastolic function plays an important role in determining left ventricular filling and stroke volume. Abnormal diastolic function has been recognized in many cardiovascular diseases and is associated with worse outcomes, including total mortality and hospitalizations due to heart failure. Using echocardiography, it is possible to diagnose the presence of diastolic dysfunction and the pathophysiologic mechanisms involved as they affect left ventricular and left atrial structure and function. This review addresses the role of echocardiography in understanding the pathophysiology of diastolic dysfunction, its diagnosis, and utility in predicting outcomes.

Het hart bestaat uit twee voorkamers (boezems) en twee kamers (ventrikels). De hartspier trekt samen onder invloed van een kleine elektrische stroom. Die stroom wordt opgewekt in de sinusknoop, een zenuwknoop in de rechtervoorkamer van het hart. De stroom wordt vanuit de sinusknoop verspreid over de hartspier door een speciaal systeem van zenuwen. Op de overgang tussen de voorkamer en de kamer zit een tweede knoop (atrioventriculaire knoop), die de bezenuwing van de voorkamer verbindt met die in de hartkamers.

This means that the right ventricle is located most anteriorly in the chest cavity, directly in touch with the chest wall on the front.
