Dear All,
I have to translate a report about a pupil with severe behavioural problems. According to an assessment by the Dutch Regionaal Expertisecentrum he has an REC 3 indicatie for a special secondary school. I have two questions:
1. Is the following translation acceptable: According by an assessment by the Dutch Regionaal Expertisecentrum he received an REC 3 indication for a special secondary school.
2. How would you translate indicatiestelling voor speciaal onderwijs?
Thanks for your help,
Liz

Hi Liz, it would help if you posted the original Dutch sentence, but going on what you have posted, I'd say something like "X has been assessed as having special education needs in the category REC 3".
What REC 3 means is here: http://speciaalonderwijs.kennisnet.nl/wat_is/rec
Handy ref. for UK based info on same subject: http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/docbank/index.cfm?id=3755

Comment: "Thanks Chris,
I agree with Kitty, that this is indeed an elegant solution.
Thank you so much!"
