Czech term

agenda

Czech to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) employment contract
refers to what a new employee's overall agenda will be (tasks, functions etc.) The word repeats often but feels really strange to use the word agenda.

Discussion

Maria Chmelarova May 29, 2013:
agenda/agenda ( kancelarska, mzdova, kmenova atd.; agenda - vseobecne - suhrn uradnych prac - routine work, list of things to do ...
V pracovnej dohode: The duties and responsibilities of an employee.
napln prace - scope of emplyoment
Vladimír Hoffman May 29, 2013:
No, agenda je bezne anglicke slovo, ale autor ma pravdu, ze v tomto kontexte je to divné. Ja by som pracoval s (job) duties a obcas to vyjadril stylisticky (He will be competent for, Another matter he will have to deal with is atd.)
Stuart Hoskins May 29, 2013:
Lenka I'd keep it there, you've given a helpful near-synonym
Lenka Mandryszová May 29, 2013:
Aha, tak to bude asi z češtiny do angličtiny - dejte vědět, když tak odpověď smáznu
Marek Buchtel May 29, 2013:
Směr překladu Máte nastaveno z češtiny do angličtiny. Je to správně nebo potřebujete český termín?

I did think of job description, but that is a formal piece of paper, and you say it appears often

very often "schedule" or "regular schedule" is used

Part of his daily schedule, part of his regular schedule, is.....

So, if someone says he does not want to do something because it is not in his job description, he is saying that it is not on the piece of paper they gave him, IMO

Nejsem si jista, zda se bude hodit v každém kontextu, je to zobecnění

Pokud je směr překladu opačný, pak je to klasicky "JOB DESCRIPTION"

Díky Šárko
agree Stuart Hoskins : "job description" or here perhaps simply "job" ("part of their job is to...")
