cappello da carabiniere

XVI century church in Sardinia
Hi - wondering if anyone can shine some light on this term. I can see from images that it does in fact look like the hat of a carabiniere (the humpback bridge style hat) but what I'm not sure is if there is a technical way for saying it in English. Grateful as always for any help from anyone.

I assume you mean this church https://tinyurl.com/222zo96d- a similar pediment is found on this other church https://tinyurl.com/2yp3f6m2 but I've never come across a term in English that could correspond to "da carabiniere"
