En otros kudoz los textos que traducía tenían más de 100 años
Eso me hace pensar que puede ser un latinismo en desuso.

Thank you all so much It's really helpful to get feedback on these head scratchers! I guess it could refer to predecessors, but it seems a bit of a stretch in context. I will probably insert the inferred translation in brackets and add a note that "labor ancia" is an unknown phrase. Thanks again

There's no way this is Latin. "Labor ancia" is just two random words that make no sense when placed together, and the same goes for "work progenitors".

Google translate ... of "labor ancia" from Latin to English offers "work progenitors", which could be taken to mean something which doesn't call for a lot of work. I'm just spitballing here…

My take Without pinpointing the exact typo, from the context the meaning seems to be "no biggie"... "small differences of little importance: the odd word here and there, nothing more.”
