Italian term

vicentina speculare

Italian to English Art/Literary Architecture
Il privè del bar viene riprodotto nella versione ***vicentina speculare***.
This is a description of an art installation that includes the reproduction (full-size replica) of a section of a private room in a Paris bar. The description is part of a video tour for visitors to the gallery. Any ideas?
Perhaps an archaic architectural term, maybe?

Discussion

criswords (asker) Nov 28, 2019:
My gratitude and thanks to everyone who has participated in this discussion. The client has approved the interpretation, including 'reproduction', as it correctly 'reflects' their specific situation. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Lara Barnett Nov 28, 2019:
Mirror I think using the term "mirror" for reproduction is a bit misleading here and has led to incorrect usage throughout the discussion/answers.
I have never heard of "mirror" being used as a verb for "reproduce". And, although it can be said that "X is a mirror image of Y" in order to suggest the two are identical, this still does not necessarily mean that one has been intentionally reproduced to look identical to the other.
criswords (asker) Nov 27, 2019:
Hi Phil. No stonewalling going on here. I signed a confidentiality agreement with my client and am not at liberty to provide certain information. I'm on the US West Coast US and probably in a different time zone from you, and wanted to double-check with my client first before responding. I always appreciate your insights and hope you will understand.
criswords (asker) Nov 27, 2019:
Many thanks, Phil and Toasty.
philgoddard Nov 27, 2019:
I've asked twice for more information on the exhibit, but it doesn't look like it will be forthcoming.
toasty Nov 27, 2019:
more info on the exhibit? Hi Chriswords, can you give us more info on the exhibition? Is it in Vicenza? I'm almost wondering if vicentina here just means it's the 'mirror' (replica) version of the Parisian bar, set up in Vicenza...
criswords (asker) Nov 27, 2019:
Sorry, Phil. I wish I had more to give you. I was hoping for the possible meaning of 'vicentina speculare', not even Treccani was of help. The mirror image is the reproduction of a portion of the nightclub interior, and opposite it, a free-standing bookcase.
philgoddard Nov 27, 2019:
I meant the name of the work and the artist.
I assume it's something to do with mirror images.
criswords (asker) Nov 27, 2019:
The work is the replica of a private room in a Paris bar.
philgoddard Nov 27, 2019:
Could we have the surrounding text, please. And what is the work?
criswords (asker) Nov 26, 2019:
Sorry, I thought I had deleted the 'branding' category. Tried to leave it blank.

In XXX’s version (in Vicenza) two private rooms mirror each other.

XXX è dove si trova questa installazione permanente.
Non si trova proprio a Vicenza, ma in provincia. Tuttavia, è talmente nota questa F. che si può parlare genericamente di Vicenza.

In privato, ti invio due link.
Note from asker:
Thank you. Absolutely right. Couldn't see the forest for the trees.
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : I'm guessing the one in Vicenza is a mirror image (does that mean reversed?) of the one in Paris. But why not share your references?

it's an installation; both links refer to XYZ (see asker's entry in discussion)
neutral Lara Barnett : Even if this is factually correct would need to be re-worded because before seeing all Disc comments, I automatically envisioned a mirror there. "mirror each other" is a bit vague (here) & if they are "mirror images" this is the wrong way to explain it.
