wind bracing (reference 1):
"diagonal braces to tie the rafters of a roof together and prevent racking"

cross bracing (reference 2)
"two diagonal supports placed in an X shaped manner; these supports compression and tension forces."
This appears to be more common.

Both terms appear to be used somewhat interchangeably.
"Cross bracing" appears more common. Usage appears to be marked by some confusion: It's sometimes called cross bracing' without the braces making out a cross shape, perhaps because the bracing crosses existing beams in walls/roofs.
