Hello and welcome to this course on Edge Management for your Whizard Trimmer.
Blade edge management is an important part of Whizard Trimmer operation and maintenance.
A properly sharpened and steeled blade has a direct effect on product quality, ease of tool use and productivity.
A good blade edge will reduce the amount of effort needed for an operator to trim.
It will also reduce the amount of stress on the operator’s wrist and arm resulting in increased productivity.
A poor blade edge will effect the cutting action of the tool. This will diminish product appearance.
A sharp and steeled blade edge is critical to maximize the performance of Whizard trimmers. This increases yield and throughput of product.
During operation, it is not always necessary to sharpen a blade.
In fact, steeling will quickly improve cutting efficiency of the blade without taking the blade or trimmer out of operation.
We’ll start by first describing the difference between steeling a blade and sharpening a blade.
Then we’ll discuss how to determine if a blade needs steeling or sharpening.
Are you ready? Let’s get started.
Gracias de antemano!
