Bio

A little about me:

 My name is
Sergio Martinez and I am a professional translator with expertise in
educational / medical / legal and technical documents. I was born in Santander
(Colombia). When i was 3 years old, my parents moved to San Andres Island
(Colombia) because of their job demands; and i lived there until i was 12 years
old. People in the island speak English and Spanish, so i grew up communicating
and interacting in both languages, for which, i consider both languages as my
mother tongues.

My mission:

 Growing up in a
place where the poverty rate is high and where I suffer the most are children,
made me aware of the situation in the world and led me to discover my two
biggest passions in life: languages and children. From that moment, I have
invested most of my time not only in learning language skills and being a great
translator, but also in learning from children and offering them all of my
knowledge.

My studies and certificates:

 I have a MA in
translation (French to Spanish) granted by the University of Colombia, a
language tutoring degree granted by Industrial University of Santander. I also
certified as a translator, being granted an IoLET DipTrans (Italian to English)
by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).

  Right now, I'm
on my way to getting my second degree- (bachelor’s in medicine), which I'm
supposed to have in my hands by 2023.
