Source text - Spanish Su luna de miel fue un largo escalofrío. Rubia, angelical y tímida, el carácter duro de su marido heló sus soñadas niñerías de novia. Ella lo quería mucho, sin embargo, a veces con un ligero estremecimiento cuando volviendo de noche juntos por la calle, echaba una furtiva mirada a la alta estatura de Jordán, mudo desde hacía una hora. Él, por su parte, la amaba profundamente, sin darlo a conocer.
Durante tres meses -se habían casado en abril- vivieron una dicha especial.
Sin duda hubiera ella deseado menos severidad en ese rígido cielo de amor, más expansiva e incauta ternura; pero el impasible semblante de su marido la contenía siempre.
La casa en que vivían influía un poco en sus estremecimientos. La blancura del patio silencioso -frisos, columnas y estatuas de mármol- producía una otoñal impresión de palacio encantado. Dentro, el brillo glacial del estuco, sin el más leve rasguño en las altas paredes, afirmaba aquella sensación de desapacible frío. Al cruzar de una pieza a otra, los pasos hallaban eco en toda la casa, como si un largo abandono hubiera sensibilizado su resonancia.
Translation - English Their honeymoon was a long shiver. Blond, shy and angelic, her husband’s hardened nature had stripped her of childish fancies of marriage. She loved him dearly, albeit with a slight shivering when, while walking back home at night, she furtively glanced at Jordán’s towering stature, who had remained silent for an hour. For his part, he loved her deeply though inwardly.
For three months – they had married in April – they lived a special bliss.
Doubtlessly she would have hoped for less severity in that rigid form of love, and for freer, unguarded tenderness; but the impassive countenance of her husband held her back at all times.
The house they inhabited had some sway on her feelings. The whiteness of the silent patio – filled with friezes, columns and marble statues – cast an autumnal impression of a palace enchanted. Inside, the stucco’s glacial glow, without the least scratch in the high walls, confirmed that feeling of displeasing coldness. When one stepped into a room, the steps echoed in the whole house, as if some long abandon had sensitized their resonance.

I'm a Uruguayan writer, screenwriter and translator with a passion for both Spanish and English. I graduated from the University of Montevideo (UM), Uruguay with the degrees of Literary Translation and Technical and Scientific Translation. I have extensively studied Latin American and English literature and translated both. In addition, I offer editing and proofreading services.
My most recent work in the literary field was the translation of Eduardo J. Couture's masterpiece "The Lawyer's Commandments", translated into English and published in Uruguay (2016).
In 2010, I graduated from Uruguay's Film School (ECU) and have done subtitling work for numerous international film festivals since then.
I also translate from Portuguese into English/Spanish (official CELPE-BRAS certification).
My professional experience as a translator includes Literary Translation, Scientific and Technical Translation, Audiovisual Translation, Translation in the Media, Financial Translation and more.
Though not as exhaustively as English, Spanish and Portuguese, I have studied German (Goethe Institut), French (Alliance Française) and Italian at different points in my life.
