original equipment tyre Explanation: I think 純正装着タイヤ is used as 新車装着タイヤ in the context. Hence, I would go with original equipment tyre or OE tyre. http://www.continental-tires.com/car/why-continental/origina... https://www.goodyear.co.jp/products/oe/maker_toyota.html I do not think the term is used as OEM tyre in 世界中の名だたるスポーツカーメーカーから純正装着タイヤとして採用されてきた. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2017-04-25 08:04:37 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here is another example of 純正着装タイヤ being used as OE tyre. (At least it doesn't seem to refer to OEM tyre.) http://www.y-yokohama.com/release/?id=2452&lang=ja&sp=20&cat... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days17 hrs (2017-04-27 23:50:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- While OEM tyres/tires may be used for the above, I found only 20 hits for "genuine OEM tires" and only 9 for "genuine tyres". Hence, it may be better to use just "OEM tyres" or "original equipment tyres". |

Genuine OEM Tires Explanation: https://www.toyota.com/owners/parts-service/parts-details/SV... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 days (2017-05-02 07:38:20 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- OEM Tires - 18 million hits in Google https://www.google.co.jp/search?q=OEM tires&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-... Original Equipment tires - 4.72 million https://www.google.co.jp/search?q=original equipment tires&i... Even if you add in the results for the singular and the UK spelling, it isn't nearly as common of a term as OEM. An abbreviation is not necessarily a "technical term". OEM is found in countless non-technical pages, and anyone who is familiar with cars will recognize it. The terms are very similar, but OEM is far more common and far less clunky. |
